Medics Specialist Programme at CATS College Cambridge has been offered a place at University College Dublin

Elizabeth Hui Lien Lau from Malaysia, a current student on the Medics Specialist Programme at CATS College Cambridge has been offered a place at University College Dublin to study Medicine.

Elizabeth has benefitted from the excellent preparation we provide for those seeking places on these competitive courses. Medics Programme is a highly specialised 2 year programme of study for focused, high-achieving students looking for progression onto related degrees at leading universities.

When interviewed Elizabeth said:

The teachers encourage us to set our own goals and be independent, which is great preparation for the future.

I came to CATS College because of the Medics specialist programme. Every week I have a special medics class, where we talk in-depth about medical ethics and news in medicine.

We have been on special trips to hospices and research units and I can speak to genuine experts in their fields. All these opportunities will help me stand out from the crowd when I apply to university. I have already started to prepare for the BMAT – I have been given past papers to practise.

The Director of the Medics Programme arranged a meeting for me with a professor who spoke to us about the BMAT; he told us that different medical schools focus on different sections of the test and encouraged me to email the universities I want to apply to and ask which section they pay most attention to. This will really help me to prioritise my revision.
