Our hiring process

Applying to a Cambridge Education Group position is a simple process that may consist of a maximum of 5 stages.

If you have any questions about our application process, or require any adjustments whatsoever, please do not hesitate [email protected] so that we are able to accommodate your requirements.

1Creating an account in our recruitment portal

All applications to CEG must come through our internal recruitment portal, accessed via our website.

As we are an education provider to some students under the age of 18, we must follow strict safeguarding guidelines.

Once you have created an account you can then apply for the position you are interested in by:

  • uploading a summary of your work experience (CV)
  • answering a few mandatory questions and
  • adding a supporting statement

Key Tip – Make a note of your password and username and file your CEG emails as you will receive a link to get back to your application.

2Booking an interview

If invited to interview, you will receive a call or email from the hiring manager to arrange this or an email with available interview slots.

If we have available interview slots you can log into your account in the recruitment portal to book your slot at a time that suits you via the link on the email sent to you.

Depending on the position, we may do a Microsoft Teams interview in the first instance.

Key Tip – You may want to check your spam/junk inbox in case the confirmation has gone into that folder.

3The Interview

Depending on the position you are applying for, there may be a two-stage interview process.

The 1st stage is usually online, we use Microsoft Teams and a second stage is usually at one of our office locations.

For our teaching positions at ONCAMPUS you will be required to complete a micro teach on your subject area as part of the interview.

Key Tip – For online interviews make sure you are in a comfortable location, with a reliable connection and turn off notifications on your phone and laptop.

4Feedback - Offer/Not suitable

If we would like to offer you the position, we will give you a call to give you the good news.

If unsuccessful, and once all interviews are complete you will receive feedback via email or phone call.

Key Tip – If you would like some specific feedback following interview, please do not be afraid to ask - contact the People team or the hiring manager directly if you have their details.

5Onboarding

Once we have discussed the offer with you on the phone, the People team will send you an invite to our onboarding portal where you will find your offer details and be able to accept the offer and view your contract.

You will also need to fill in key details and we will need to take some copies of your documents like your right to work.

Our 3rd party partner Credence will be in touch to ask you for information so that they are able to carry out background screening checks. This includes verification of your relevant/highest level qualifications, references and a criminal record check.

If as part of your role you will be working unsupervised at one of our ONCAMPUS Centres an enhanced DBS will be required in line with our safeguarding requirements.

Key Tip – Safeguarding is important to us as we are an education company, this means we have to meet certain requirements in regard to background checks.
